mush

photos by the porte-plume.

thank goodness for the porte-plume. she not only laughs at my awful jokes, but she helps me make it through days like the one above when i do weird things to my hair, put on weird things, and decide that all of this weirdness is totally awesome. thank goodness for her.

so, in the event of mush, i give you the following. a pile of mush to fill your senses.
if you didn't watch that video, that's fine, i get it. but, i will ask you to do the following:
1. press play
2. fast forward to 2:27
3. watch for ten seconds
4. fall in love
yes, i do have his new christmas album. and yes, michael bublé is a guilty pleasure of mine, but i see nothing wrong with that. his full voice, the jazz, the soul, the structured refinement and big band sound that comes standard with everything he does, how could you not enjoy it? his christmas album is absolutely wonderful. it's everything i love about michael bublé's music mixed with everything i love about the holiday season. it's happiness and spirit. speaking of, last year, i shared the calgary hitmen teddy bear toss, so click here if you want to see this year's installment: 25,000+ teddy bears. that's true spirit.
clorange had a show at springwater last night, and i don't know if it was our choice of opening song, but i thought it was a strong show. thank you to every single person that came out, it was awesome. in other news, school is winding down and picking up speed at an alarming rate all at the same time. and in the midst of all things busy, i find myself still coming to terms with the reality of what's in front of me. sometimes, you fill yourself up with hope, but is it so bad to hold tight to that hope during this time of year? it's winter. people pull back, they feel held down, we get grumpy, exhausted, frustrated, antsy. but, i still have hope. it's christmas. but knowing myself, when christmas is gone, i'll still have hope. because despite sometimes feeling the winter weight myself, i know it's only from the time of year. so, i have hope. i may be falsely indulging myself, but i'll figure that out in time. probably sooner rather than later. time for mint kisses and the last bits of actual class before i'm robotically thrusting my forehead against a cement wall. what's that mean? finals.

breathe peace.

To Laura_Maradam,

I spent a week in Madrid, followed by four weeks in Santiago de Compostela, followed by one more week in Madrid. I also visited Isla de Ons, Vilagarcia, Toledo, and a couple other small coastal cities.

I love old pics like that because I am quite fascinated by that time period. The draping on your skirt is perfection and it all looks so chic and comfy! I will definitely be back!!
